Lucidia Wins Two Davey Awards

Sault Ste. Marie, ON - March 20, 2007 - Competing against 3,500 entries submitted by communication agencies from all around the world, Lucidia has just won two 2006 Silver International Davey Awards. One Silver award recognizes creative newspaper advertising for Community First Credit Union. A second Silver award acknowledges outstanding retail grocery packaging design for the new product, Flax for Nutrition, of Regina, Saskatchewan.

The International Davey Awards exclusively honour the best ‘small’ agencies in the world. “We honour the marketing achievements of the ‘creative Davids’ who get their results from big ideas, rather than big budgets”, says Linda Day, Director of the International Davey Awards. “Davey Award winners get their strength from intelligence, from out-of-the-box thinking and exceptional execution, not a ‘giant’s’ bankroll. Great communication is about fresh ideas not the biggest budgets”, says Day.

At another recent international competition with over 2,300 entries from interactive agencies worldwide, Lucidia won a 2006 Silver w3 Award for the outstanding website designed for Community First Credit Union. Derek Howard, Director of w3 Awards, announced, “We were amazed by the caliber of work. Our winners continue to push the envelope of internet creativity and it’s gratifying to see such great work from the smallest of agencies”.

“David defeated the mighty Goliath with a big idea and a little rock – and that’s the sort of thinking Lucidia gives us every day”, says Community First Credit Union CEO, Greg Peres. “With every communication they create, Lucidia helps us build our business and our member relationships too. Their international recognition by both the Davey Awards and w3 Awards is well deserved.”

“We gain two important benefits from winning international awards”, says Jeff Elgie, President of Lucidia. “First, it’s very positive news that can help retain smart young creative people in our community and second, because our award-winning advertising is building their businesses, we strengthen those all-important client relationships too.”

The International Davey Awards recognize outstanding creative communication by the best small communication firms worldwide. Please visit www.daveyawards.com or call Linda Day, 212.675.3555 for more information.
