Algoma U students take “the win” at computer programming competition
Algoma U is proud is announce that their computer science students won the Northern Michigan Invitational Computer Programming Contest, held at the Northern Michigan University this past weekend in Marquette, Michigan.
A total of 68 students in 24 teams representing five universities competed for top honours.
The teams were comprised of students from Algoma U, Lake Superior State University, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan University and the University of Michigan.
Algoma U students Robert McCarthy, Adam Boulanger (both second-year computer science students) and Brian Holmes (fourth- year computer science student) won the tough competition by solving four of the six problems in a five-hour contest.
Algoma U’s other two teams performed very well, both solving three of the six problems and taking 8th and 9th place out of 24 teams.
